Key to any renewable energy installation is the suitability of the property or project. It is essential that Standard Assessment Procedures (SAP) are carried out to ensure compliance with "Part L" of the Building Regulations. For any newly built, converted or extended commercial properties Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) calculations are required for building regulation compliance.
In each context these calculations are used to assess the energy efficiency and associated carbon emission rates of the proposed building based on the intended plans and specifications.
This calculation process is required both at the design stage and before commencement of any work. Most importantly it is also required prior to obtaining a completion certificate.
In the case of commercial installations it is the basis of the Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificate.
Through our extensive network we are able to organize complete compliance packages including air-leakage tests and SAP calculations for all types of developments and installations.
We are especially interested in historic and listed buildings and are happy to assist clients working with local authorities and groups such as English Heritage
